If you don’t hard work now, how can you expect good results later?
This is difficult for most to understand unless you’ve learned to be self-disciplined, hard working, and determined towards your goals.
Through teaching, I’ve seen the struggle in properly motivating and conveying to students to work hard now in all we’re learning and going through.
Not because we just want them to get good grades as the end result, but because it’s building them up to be successful in their futures.
+We work hard in PE with our cardio, workouts, and drills in order to properly play the sports—but also to instill what it means to take care of the bodies God has given us and to endure through physical and mental hardships.
+In math, we need continual practice and studying outside of the classroom in order to become comfortable with concepts and turn what is considered a “hard” subject for many, into a fun and rewarding one.
Whether we see the results of our hard work now, or in the future, God can use all we’re going through for His glory.

The hard work I put into a random one-off season of water polo in high school, allowed me to become a lifeguard in college, in which I saved 3 people from drowning and paid my own way through college—debt free.
The majority of my tuition being covered by a CalGrant…which I only got and maintained by working hard in school.
But. What does that look like for us as adults, who are likely out of school and set in our ways?
For many, it means we need to work towards being more self-disciplined in our daily lives with what we’re doing and where we’re spending our time.
I enjoy working hard and giving my all in my work, but currently seem to be pouring all of that into my teaching job, which has made it difficult to have anything left for the other areas of my life.
Through this though, I see many ways that I can improve and strengthen in areas that will be needed if I’m to continue moving forward in life.
So, I’ll be asking myself these questions more often, and I’d encourage you to do as well:
Am I giving this my all?
Am I using my time wisely?
Am I putting in the hard work that’s needed for my desired result?
Lastly, here is a verse that can bring you daily encouragement within this topic:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward.” Colossians 3: 23-24
Michael
