At the end of last week I learned the company I was interning at would not be extending my contract.
Here’s how the last two weeks went:
I communicated I was not a fit for an SDR, but could help them in other ways to move their business forward.
They asked me to create a job description of where I could best fit.
I sent over a short term, part time, consultant role where I would help fix and strengthen multiple areas I’d seen in the last ten weeks.
Thursday they called and said they would not be moving forward.
If you’d like to hear my candid thoughts about this, watch this five min video:
In future emails I’ll share more about what I learned from this entire experience, as it was one that forced me to grow in many different ways.
Ultimately though, them not moving forward with myself is a huge blessing.
Why do I say this?
Well! At the beginning of last week things started building momentum with Audyx.
I was looking for 50 people to test my audit survey, and ended up with 188.
I have also now have 25 early access folks signed up to test Audyx once it launches.
These two things alone are pretty crazy to see, as I’ve not had anything comparable in “success” this early on in any idea I’ve done.
Of course, it doesn’t mean these numbers are all $$$ to the business, but it definitely gives a push towards this.
So with the internship finally ending, I’m taking the closed door as further confirmation from God that the path I’m on with Audyx is the one to continue down.
→ Even getting the signups I did was nothing I can say I did on my own. All God!
It’s exciting and scary at the same time, as my timeline with Audyx just jumped way up and I’m learning things on the fly.
But! This is truly one of the most exhilarating and exciting parts of being an entrepreneur.
The unknown of what’s coming next, learning new things each day, and being ready for whatever comes your way.
(Plus the potential to FINALLY make $ with something I’ve created.)
Since I’m now full-time remote with Audyx, I’ll be testing out new scheduling to make sure I can keep up with the stage of the business.
I’ll be back at the end of the week to share if this scheduling was successful.
If so, it could be a great help if you find yourself remote or headed in that direction.
Michael
