When all else fails...

you build an app. Right?

In my everyday life everyone keeps asking how my job search is going.

Seeing that it’s been about two months since we last talked, you might be wondering the same thing.

Well, here you have it:

Nothing is moving forward on the full-time job front. But! I’ve been building an app.

Sounds insane, right?

Like a truly crazy person who has lost all sight of reality.

However, I’m thinking now that this might actually be the unfolding true story and life of a struggling entrepreneur right before they hit something big and have an idea that actually works.

Of course that’s being optimistic, which I very well think you need to be if you’re going to start, build, and run a business of your own.

Though also to this point, I’ve read countless articles and posts on LinkedIn that talk about how they had “x” amount of failed ideas and even co-founder relationships before hitting an idea that stuck.

The even crazier part to this story I’m in, is that I never would’ve had the idea and push to start this if I wasn’t in this dreary situation.

Not knowing whether to give up on Fisher Philbrick, jump back to full time work for someone else, manage full time plus FP, or even start a business with someone else…

In order to stay busy, motivated, and most importantly sane though I’ve been building out what is soon to be a mobile app called ConnectCall.

The main purpose is to help users connect with family, friends, and themselves.

It’s targeted towards those experiencing and struggling with social isolation, loneliness, and poor mental health.

Really though, I think all of us would benefit from strengthening our relationships with those around us.

So, I am super excited to start using the app and testing it out.

(And if you want to see the short clip I created yesterday for it, check it out here.)

But! What I’ll be releasing first is a version that’s called an MVP.

Minimum Viable Product.

It’s a term to describe getting the very basic form of the idea/product/service put together and released into the market.

Then, you’re able to get feedback from a selected group of users to let you know how you should move forward with the idea, if you need to pivot, or maybe even kill the idea.

It’s something I think will be incredibly helpful for this idea, as well as future ideas I have.

I’ll share more about ALL of this in the coming days and weeks, but hope you’re excited to see this come to life!

If you’d like to be on the waitlist, to be among the very first users to test out and try the app, I’d love to have you!

We’ll be doing the MVP on the iOS App Store, and if things move forward it’ll then be available on iOS, Android, and Desktop.

I hope this update has been an interesting one, and that you can find encouragement in that:

Even in some of life’s most difficult and confusing times, you can strike new ideas that might just be the ones to lead you out of the pit.

Would love to hear how you have been doing—so feel free to hit reply and say HEY!
