It's worth reaching out

Create connections with those around you.

Update from last week

Last week I mentioned I would be working on getting set up with PodMatch to get guesting opportunities to start promoting Audyx.

In that time, I’ve been in touch with their founder Alex after realizing he had reached out via cold email last year and the year before.

I recognized his surname and started a conversation with him from his past outreach—sharing what I was looking to do, and asking if it would be a good match with his business.

Fast forward

Alex invited me to attend their big upcoming virtual podcasting event, getting me a comped ticket to attend it.

Saving me $97!

Not only was it exciting to be invited to this, but really more so to see that I’ve begun building a relationship and connection with another founder.

He’s a founder who truly cares for those he serves, and takes the time to personally reach out and respond to them.

Something that I’ve realized is so incredibly rare to find.

What does this lead to?

It makes me 100% onboard with what PodMatch is doing, and I have no worries or concerns about becoming a paid member with them.

In fact, I’m very excited to be able to support what they’re doing!

What really sold me on wanting to move forward with them is that they are a team of three running the business—Alex, his wife, and another guy.

Three founders running the entire business.

And! They have chosen the bootstrapped route for running their business.

Not being distracted or enticed by all of the hype and obsession about getting funded, joining accelerator programs, needing millions to move forward.

→ These are all things I find incredibly admirable and the route I want to take in my future businesses and projects. (Even more so to have my future wife help in what I create!)

For yourself?

Reaching out to businesses you want to do business with is entirely worth it.

You’ll get to see how they run and operate their business, particularly how they treat prospects and potential new customers.

Furthermore, you can open up so many possibilities with the new connections you make—especially when you get connected with another fellow founder.

It’s so exciting, and such a breath of fresh air!

So! Use this as encouragement to both respond back to or start those emails, messages, and outreach.

You never know when a single conversation could lead to something incredible.

Hope you have a great weekend ahead of you!

Michael

PS. I’ll be in New Orleans on a business trip for most of next week. So keep me in your prayers! It’s a dark and evil place, I’m solo traveling, and meeting up with co-workers I don’t know all that well.

Will be one crazy adventure, I’m sure.

Stay tuned for next Saturday when I share what I learned from it.
