Building up the confidence

to run your business

Wherever you’re at in your business owning journey, there’s one thing that can hit you at any moment.

Lack of confidence.

Confidence is a tricky topic for many of us to face in our daily personal lives.

Let alone having to face it when starting out and running our own businesses.

I grew up performing, being on a stage, and grew to really like being in front of others…which has helped a ton with building up strong confidence in my personal life.

However, I still find times where confidence is lacking on the business owning side of things.

Most recently I’ve run into this when creating my first products to sell.

Can I really do this? Am I qualified to do this? Will anyone buy it? I don’t have a lot of followers or subscribers. I’m not successful yet. I already failed a business…

→ You can see how things can get out of hand and start spiraling pretty quickly, right?

Well! I want to share something with you that can be a great help to you, if (and when) you come to these moments in your business.

First though, here are a few reasons why building up confidence is important to your business owning journey:

  • To actually start your business, rather than continuing to push it off or giving up on it.

  • To create and launch new products and services.

  • To continually push your business forward in the direction needed to create a lasting and successful business.

  • To make the hard decisions that no one else can, that will shape the future of your business.

  • To effectively lead, manage, and run your business.

Okay, you ready?

This was, and still is, incredibly helpful for myself in times of low confidence.

It’s a pretty simple concept, but a powerful one nonetheless.

  • Put yourself in a position where you’re learning and gaining knowledge from people that are a few steps above and ahead of you.

  • You then, can teach and share what you’re learning/experiencing/living through with those that are a few steps below you.

  • Those that are a few steps below you will find great value in what you’re sharing—which is something they can’t experience with those who are above you.

→ As long as you’re continuing to learn and pour knowledge into yourself from those that are ahead of you…you’ve got value to share. Value to sell.

Most importantly: You’re not in your business to sell to those who are steps above you, but rather those that are a few steps behind you.

There are always going to be those that are better than you.

And that’s a huge confidence killer.

But the encouragement and excitement in both knowing and applying this concept, is that there are always going to be those below you.

Those that are a few steps behind you which you can create an impactful, helpful, and amazing experience for.

This is what you can use to build up the confidence you may find lacking at times.

And maybe you want some tips on adding in confidence to your personal life?

  1. Stand tall and walk with good posture.

  2. Rest your arms and hands calmly at your side.

  3. Keep your head raised level and avoid looking at the ground.

  4. Make regular eye contact, head nod, smile to, and acknowledge those around you.

All non-verbal cues you can add to your personal life that are small, but when put together make a huge impact.
